Transforming PANW’s Studios into a High-Performance Production Space
When I joined PANW, the studios were in disarray—disorganized, inefficient, and unable to properly support the team’s needs. A year prior, a well-known integrator had installed equipment, but no one fully understood what had been implemented or how to use it effectively. Within my first few months, critical failures started occurring, and when we reached out for repairs, response times were slow, and solutions were ineffective. This led me to take on a complete overhaul of the studio. In less than two years, I redesigned and rebuilt the entire studio infrastructure, replacing the set and signal flow while selecting, installing, and programming all new equipment. I developed streamlined workflows that quadrupled our production output and elevated quality to professional standards. By the end of the revamp, a single operator could seamlessly run a multi-camera shoot with remote presenters, teleprompters, downstage monitors, and full lighting and graphics cues. Beyond the main studio, I also rebuilt the secondary studio and, to ensure uninterrupted production during construction, I set up a fully functional temporary studio in another building. These improvements not only enhanced efficiency but also enabled the team to expand from four to seven full-time members. Our capabilities grew to include major event production and remote interviews for networks like CNN, MSNBC, and Mad Money with Jim Cramer.
PANW Work

"Video Samples"
This is a showcase of just a few of the projects I produced while working for Palo Alto Networks. It's important to note that due to privacy and security there are few projects I can show publicly.

"Turntable - Ignite 2022"
This is a video walkthrough of my Turntable set up in the small studio. These were meant to be "Living Posters".

"Mini Mastercontrol"
This is a video walkthrough of my "Mini Mastercontrol" cart that I built for the main studio. From this cart I could run the entire studio.

"EraseHyperdecks App"
Erasing the 13 Hyperdeck recorders by hand was a cumbersome and tedious process that could take several minutes to complete. I created this little app that would allow me to remotely erase whichever decks I chose from my position within the studio. A camera mounted in the AV Racks would show me that the process was happeneing and successful. I also created a similar app that would transfer all of the video files to a NAS device, as well as a local back-up within the studio.

"Lightboard Videos"
The PANW Video Team was producing Lightboard videos before I arrived but they were poorly executed. I revamped the entire process from Pre-Production all the way through to Post. Almost everything you see was done in camera except the FX pass which I developed to bring out the neon colors of the markers. The lighting, recording and editing was done entirely by me.

"Ignite Mini Studios"
This is a walkthrough of the mini studios I built for one of our Ignite events. The lighting, signal flow and switching were all done by me.

"Copy Speaker Notes Script"
This is a demonstration of a script I wrote to automatically copy the speaker notes from a Google Slides presentation into a Google Doc for use in the teleprompter.
