About This Work

Here is a collection of some of the things I've built over the years.

Things I've Built

"Remote Activated Projector Shutter"

This is walk through of the remote actuated video projector shutter I built for the Alex Ramon magic show, Platinum. Outside of the house crew who were in charge of lighting, audio and curtain cues, I was the only crew on stage. Needing a way to cut the projector beam from the front of house when I was running camera for IMAG, I built this little machine. The main components are from a kit to convert your manual car door locks to remote actuated. The base and the linkage are built from MDF and brackets I got from the hardware store then cut and shaped to fit my needs. The show was not without its hitches, (what do you expect when there is literally no time for rehearsal) but the shutter worked flawlessly.

"Wireless, Remote Activated, Battery Powered Recording Light"

I built this recording light for location recordings so that I could set it up outside to room or down the hall and not need to run power or signal cables. Just put it into position, connect it to my wirelss lighting board, turn it on during the recording and then off when we were done!

"MVP: Mobile Video Pack"

During the Pandemic we needed a way to capture high quality video from our presenters who were not able to come to the Studio. I built this kit that we would ship to them and that they could plug directly into their work issued computer. The camera was able to be controlled remotely so I could get good framing and exposure.
